Hi! Thank you for choosing my website to explore and learn about blended lessons and digital citizenship in a primary classroom.
I am a grade 1 teacher and have been teacing grade 1 for 4 years. I am also a Connected Educator in the Regina Catholic School Division.
My passions lie in finding new ways to reach ALL my students and for them to experience success in school. As we know, involving parents is one of the keys to student success. With this in mind I am constantly seeking new ways to involve parents in their childrens school lives. By exploring the blended classroom approach I am hoping to being to fill the gap between home and school.
As a Connected Educator I have access to 2:1 tablets in my classroom. This allows me to use Seesaw as a platform for enhancing student learning and actively sending home student work. I am also a Seesaw Ambassador and I am constantly looking for new ways to utilize the app. I am currently exploring how I can incorporate the blended learning approach through the use of Seesaw!
I have chosen to begin my blended lessons surrounding Digital Citizenship. My hope in beginning here is to foster meaningful conversations and expereinces between students and parents before they begin spending more time on devices.
